Trained in School Psychology, I utilize a problem solving and eclectic evidence-based approach to clients concerns and collaborate among all parties as needed (youth, family, and school). We will set goals and ways that we will track progress towards these goals. During coaching sessions, I utilize a gradual release teaching model, whereby the youth/adult take on more and more of the coaching sessions and eventually I just provide feedback and encouragement. When ready, we fade the sessions with occasional check-ins, to encourage self-determination. A shared goal is to reduce the frequency and duration of sessions as each client responds to the coaching. This differs in terms of a timeline, per each individual. I also provide consultation services with educational providers as needed (IEP, 504 meetings)
If you are working with another member of our team, we all work for a client-centered and strengths-based perspective. I will be working closely with team members through supervision and the team meets weekly to review sessions and next steps. In addition, I am available for the first line of communication throughout the week.
